Telecommunications Excise Tax Refund
There are savings available for refunds of Federal Excise Taxes going back to March 1, 2003, which have been assessed on long distance telephone bills. This opportunity has a short window for organizations to claim refunds for the qualified periods when the 2006 tax return is filed, making this time sensitive. The IRS stopped charging the tax on August 1, 2006. During our examination, Arnold Standard will perform the following:
- Conduct a review of the telephone charges to ascertain the information currently in place to identify the qualified telecom services, which will develop the basis for the refund claims.
- Observe the statutes of limitations with respect to the open periods.
- Furnish a Report to Management at the conclusion of this review, which will include a detailed explanation of the basis used in obtaining the refunds for exempt usage.
Our services are rendered on a contingent fee, which eliminates all economic risk to your company as we are only paid from the savings obtained. In addition, we pay for all filing fees, engineering reports and other disbursements.
